Meet the Maker

Where hide becomes heritage.

The Quirky Hide began in a quiet corner of Derbyshire, rooted in traditional leathercraft and guided by modern standards.

Maker and Curator, The Quirky Hide

At its heart is a studio rooted in heritage leathercraft. I work with vegetable tanned leather, shaping, dyeing and stitching each piece by hand in small batches. Everything is designed to be used, repaired and passed on.

Workbench and tools
A quiet bench, a few well worn tools, and work in progress.

The Quirky Hide is shaped by what I make, and defined by what I choose.

Alongside my own handcrafted work, I carefully curate a small collection of pieces that meet the same standards I hold for my own: natural materials, honest construction, thoughtful design. Nothing rushed. Nothing disposable.

Whether handmade at my bench or selected from trusted makers and suppliers, everything here earns its place. Built with care and chosen with intention.

If you’ve found your way here, welcome.
